Max_input_vars is a PHP configuration setting that limits the maximum number of input variables a server will accept in a single request.
Updating the max_input_vars directive in PHP prevents data truncation and server errors when processing large or complex web forms. By default, PHP limits the number of input variables (such as $_GET, $_POST, and $_COOKIE) it will accept to 1,000, which can easily be exceeded by modern web applications, large e-commerce product menus, or extensive WordPress settings pages.
STEPS OF UPDATING THE PHP MAX_INPUT_VARS
- Log in to your Control Panel using your username and password.
- Navigate to the Account Manager and click on PHP Settings.
- Look for the Add New Override panel.
- Go to Setting menu, select max_input_vars.
- In the Value field, enter your desired limit (e.g., 3000 or 5000 is highly recommended for complex themes or large forms).
- Click the Add then Save.
